The Groups of Thaumaturgy

Welcome, welcome! This is the very first blog post on the website. Every week, I will try to post one, unless a family emergency or something like that comes up. These blog posts may include bonus information, such as images of characters, behind-the-scenes looks at special places and characters, and updates on book status. Weekly life updates will never change, so you will also get a behind-the-scenes look at my life.

Well, I finally published this website. School is trailing on as my second year of high school gets more interesting. The homework load has increased by a crazy amount, but I have been managing because I've discovered how not to do this thing called procrastinating (I don't know who I'm kidding — I still do it).

The day until my book gets published is inching closer. I'm working on last-minute touches to the book and the book cover. I shall possibly release the front of the cover early. Let's hope we get a strong fandom.

Feature.

This week will focus mainly on the groups of people that you will encounter throughout the books that live within the continent of Thaumaturgy. The first group you will encounter is the Atlanters, who can control water. They live in the country of Atlanta. The protagonist of the story is Alexia Rose Poplar, who is an Atlantess, or a female Atlanter.

Atlanters' specialty production is seaweed gum. Seaweed gum is basically gum, only made out of flavored seaweed that is chewy and can never be fully chewed up. When blown into what would normally be a bubble, the seaweed gently swirls in a circle before re-entering your mouth. The Atlanter motto is none other than, "By the dolphins!"

Another group you will encounter is the Thinkers, who can enter others' minds and speak to them through their thought trains, enabling them to read others' minds. They will not be mentioned right away in the story. Thinkers live in the country of Mindington. Their specialty is playing hide-and-seek, for they can easily sense where others are by reading their minds. The motto of this group is, "When the mind dies!"

In addition to those two, you will encounter a group called Shifters, who can shift into other people. They can take any form and appear as anyone. They are also discussed further along in the series. They live in the country of Copyslope. Their specialty is pulling pranks, as they can shift into things to scare people. The motto of the group is, "Shift until the body breaks, we say!"

The fourth group you shall encounter is Travelers. They can teleport anywhere at any time. They are another group mentioned later in the series. They live in the country of Transportvania. Their specialty is hiking, as they can just cheat whenever it gets hard and teleport past. Their motto is, "Where would the world be if nobody traveled?"

The last group you will meet in Thaumaturgy is the Visionaires. They can see the future, past, and memories as if they were there. They live in the country of Visionaire—so creative. Their specialty is gambling—kids, don't try this at home—because they can see what comes before it happens. Their motto is, "Sight is but another reason to keep going."

And then you've got us… The humans. However, all of the other groups call us Landers. Not quite sure why, since that only seems to fit with the Atlanters, but I won't question them. This series mostly focuses on Landers living in the state of Virginia on the continent of North America, though that won't be important in the first book. A Lander's specialty is… uhm… actually, what are we good at? I guess we are good at being obsessed with electronics, which, really, is just sad. The Landers’ motto is… well… we don't have one. COME ON, HUMANS, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!

And there you have it. The groups that you shall follow for eternity.
